Description
The DART easy access oil drain kit installs a simple tube and valve system onto the existing drain holes on both engines that allows operator to drain oil into a pan or beaker without making a mess. An automatic shutoff valve means added convenience does not come at the cost of safety. The valve shuts off easily and will not open due to aircraft vibration. The design of the AW139 engine is such that anytime operators want to drain oil (for sampling or oil changes) a plug on the underside of the engine must be removed; due to poor access and lack of clearance for an oil pan mechanics must allow the oil to pool on the roof deck and eventually drain out the lower gutter channel leaving behind an oily mess to clean on the aircraft roof.
*One kit modifies one aircraft (both engines).
